Subway bows to cheese tessellation pressure!

Looks like the infamous Left-Handed Toons comic about cheese placement on Subway sandwiches has finally paid off.  No longer will you have to suffer soul-crushing disappointment at the hands of so-called “sandwich artists”!  Well, at least in Australia.

I saw a tweet from Digg that captured my attention this morning, which lead to a link that I couldn’t follow… so I had to Google “Subway Finally Agrees to Tessellate Cheese” and it paid off.

This came from Gawker:

This came from The Consumerist:

The Consumerist | Subway to Start Tessellating Cheese

This is the word from Left Handed Toons:

Hopefully this wave of geometrical correctness makes its way to the shores of the states soon, and maybe they’ll figure out a way to not use one knife for every sandwich and even a way to stop flinging little creamy bits of death all over the place!  I may have to start bugging my old contacts there once again.

Top 25 Star Wars Fight Scenes

If you’re not following Distracted By Star Wars somewhere, then you’re missing cool stuff like this:

…and you should really be ashamed of yourself.

Happy Star Wars Day!

May the 4th be with you! Nothing like a good pun.  I’m (obviously, I guess) a STAR WARS fan, and I figured other people that have come here to read this blog for whatever reason probably are too.  So, I wanted to share some fun Star Wars related stuff today.

First off, we have Anchorhead.  You’ll especially dig this if you’re a fan of metal…

I’ve collected some audio from the web since I can’t seem to find the stuff anywhere for actual sale.  If you’re interested in some other geeky Star Wars related songs, check out this thread with some links to Bentframe, MC Chris, and more.

Then there are some cool STAR WARS related websites that I’ve been checking out regularly lately via Tumblr & Twitter…

And, shameless plugs…

Check ’em out!

And, if you’ve never seen Star Wars… this is an explanation of the movies by someone like yourself…

IT’S A CRAP!

It’s weird how things interconnect all the time… like thoughts that occur throughout a week or month that are seemingly connected to other random things.

Recently I wrote about Spaceballs 3D.

Uncle John’s Bathroom Reader recently blogged about some crazy toilets(You have to see #10.  Seriously.)

I saw something on twitter about an Admiral Ackbar Toilet and was moved to re-tweet.

Certainly this is a toilet worthy of Uncle John’s list, and of moichandizing moichandizing moichandising!

Clemente Bridge @ Night

Clemente BridgeI recently submitted a photo to the Only In Pittsburgh blog, and they posted it today (Thanks Brett!).  So, this is nothing more than shameless self-promotion.  The photo featured is my current desktop @ work, and was part of a set that I took last year at PNC Park.

I find the bridge more visually interesting than anything actually in the park. I need to go back down & get some more views of the city this summer.  I have no idea how I managed to get a night photo that wasn’t blurry without the use of a tripod.

Only In Pittsburgh is a cool blog to check out if you like photography & if you like the ‘Burgh.  I follow them on Twitter to get my daily dose of Yinzer pride.

So You Want to Be a Waiter – on Allergies, pt. 2

Yesterday, I told you about part 1 of this waiter’s look into being proactive about allergies.

Today, I’m telling you that part 2 is up already.  He has an interesting take that seems based on taking pride in your job & catering to all of your customers’ needs — quirky as they may be, something that is apparently lost on a large part of the work force.

Review: Dethlehem – The Ghorusalem Codex Vol 1: Enthroned Upon A Spire (2009)

Well, it’s not my review, it’s from All Metal Resource… but it’s a good review, even if I disagree with the part about the vocals.  These cats deserve attention.

Check out the review:  Review: Dethlehem – The Ghorusalem Codex Vol 1: Enthroned Upon A Spire (2009)

I should make my own review… but I’m really not well versed in newer metal, so I don’t know if I’d be drawing any of the right comparisons.  All I know is that when I pop it into the CD player or when it pops up in my mp3 player, I really dig it.

And check out the band…

You won’t be sorry!

Positive Karma from the Waiter/Waitress Side of the Fence?

Remember that comment & blog from Teleburst (So You Want to Be a Waiter) that I was telling you about?  Well, it seems that he did indeed write a blog about allergies and waiting tables, and it’s a part one.  I’m interested to see the 2nd half!

Check it out if you’re so inclined…

…and if you wait tables or work with food, I hope you’re inclined.

A close to all the food rants… maybe.

I’m sure this isn’t the last you’ll hear from me on the subject, but this is just to close out my recent rants about the bad habits of restaurant employees out there everywhere.

If you need a recap, here’s how it panned out on my end…

Admittedly, I was just “going off” in reaction to the mentioned articles, but it doesn’t excuse any of the deplorable actions described within.  I really appreciate the blog hits, feedback, & discussion on the issue… whether it was here on this blog, or via Facebook, Twitter, Pittsburgh Beat, or whatever venue a link was pimped upon.

In the last blog, I was tagged and deemed it by an entertaining blogger  named Charity that sits on the server side of the fence, and some things were explained to me.  She was one of the ones quoted in my rants, although she wasn’t confessing to disgusting behavior, just complaining about customers (which she has every right to do).  Apparently I’m adorable in a “oh my, isn’t he so naive” kind of way.  I commented there, really saying all I have to say on the subject for now.  I even saw a few encouraging words from another commenter, teleburst, who provided some cool links to his blog on being more accommodating to customers with special dietary needs.  Let’s hope he does eventually blog about allergies!

I love the blogs about how to be a better customer that are out there… I wouldn’t imagine that people would actually do some things like share drinks with free refills or leave a mess after their kid makes one…  But I guess it’s happening out there everywhere.

I know I mentioned discussing tips, but the mood has passed for now… I’m sure I’ll dive into it someday.  I need to do another goofy W(aL)D post soon.  Hits have been skyrocketing for my Sprint Short Codes post, there’s apparently still a problem that Sprint refuses to admit!  Oh well, until next time… Remember to tip your servers at least 20% for good service, unless they slip you some regular instead of decaf or beef stock when they tell you it’s vegetable stock.

tumblr

A lot more people are using tumblr.  I’ve had an account for a while, but haven’t really used it much.  I don’t know if I’m completely comfortable with the concept yet.  I feel like I’m not using it to its full potential, but I haven’t really put that much time & effort into it.

In the mean time, I’m using it to regurgitate my tweets, some other stuff,  and now this blog.  I think I have it posting to Facebook if I create original content there, too.

I actually have two tumblr accounts rolled into one.  One for me… AiXeLsyD13; and one tied to this blog, WorldAndLunarDomination.  I’d be flattered if you would like to follow me or just the blog (or both) via tumblr if you’re an avid user.  Maybe I can get some tips/advice from you.

You can get me here…

Thanks!
